Signs of recovery in the promotion industry
Milan, January 25, 2010 – Appropriately described as an oasis for the promotion industry, PromotionTrade Exhibition was a real success. The event closed its doors at fieramilanocity on Friday after three very busy days. Results exceeded all expectations, both in terms of the number of visitors and their credentials.
Occupying an area of 135,600 square feet (12,600 square meters), the 157 exhibitors and 38 represented companies at the event were visited by 4,161 professional attendees.
“We’re extremely happy with the final figures for this exhibition,”says Osvaldo Ponchia, managing director of organizer OPS. “They reveal definite signs of faith in the market. This should encourage general optimism in the national economy, since the performance of the promotion industry reflects every area of manufacturing. Numerous exhibitors – particularly in the fabrics and writing instrument sectors – have told me that they finalized major deals right at the exhibition.”
And the exhibitors presented numerous new products and ideas at the event. As did the organizers, introducing a new website and magazine, both of which were launched during the show. PTE Magazine is a supplement included with the well-established Promotion Magazine, a trade journal dedicated to agents working in the promotion industry. Open 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, the website at Pteweb.eu is a place for the industry to come together and do business. The main goal of the site is to act as a dynamic catalog for manufacturers, importers and distributors of promotional products, as well as suppliers of machinery for product personalization. The site is divided into two sections: One where visitors can locate suppliers according to a wide range of search criteria, and one featuring special offers, the products available, and so on. The site was a real hit with both visitors and exhibitors.
“The only conclusion we can draw from the earliest results to come in,” continues Ponchia, “is that there are strong signs of a recovery. The printing machinery segment grew in particular, but there is growth right across the board. The immediate visual impact of the exhibition gave a clear idea of this, with exhibitors making major investments in both their booths and in communication. Some companies even organized competitions with prizes for visitors at the event. All this confirms yet again that PromotionTrade Exhibition is an event that's not to be missed. The next exhibition we’re organizing for promotion industry professionals is Promotion Expo (www.promotionexpo.it), scheduled for March 10–12, 2010, at fieramilanocity.”
